Leadership
Here at SOL we are committed to raising up young leaders in the community that are passionate about change. We call these youth change-makers, volunteers who dedicate their time and efforts to benefit the community.
Youth Storytelling Initiative
Through our Youth Storytelling Initiative, we have created a program where local youth interview veteran volunteers at Share My Meals, allowing them to not only gain valuable skills, but also learn beneficial lessons. Youth finished off their project by creating online flyers, artwork, and graphic design to help Share My Meals gather more volunteers.
Stronger Together Initiative
Thanks to the Sodexo Stop Hunger Youth Grants Program, we received $250 to fund our large-scale packing event, where 200 care packages were assembled. These gift bags included a handwritten card, mini-hygiene kit (including toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, and floss), along with dried food good goods, such as pasta, rice, and beans. Through partnering with the Princeton Mobile Food Pantry on April 25th, Global Service Day, a group of around 30 high schoolers gathered together to pack kits! We encouraged youth leadership, allowing a diverse range of students to meet new peers.
We are in the process of creating our Change-Maker Podcast. You will be able to listen to it on Spotify and each episode will contain an interview with a youth leader in our world who is bringing about change. Stay tuned for more announcements!
