Outreach

Here at SOL we are committed to carrying out projects that reach out to members of the community. Through the planning, preparation, and execution of an outreach project, we involve youth volunteers who are passionate about social change.

Dear Elder Mailbox

We have partnered with over six local businesses and schools to set up our Dear Elder Mailbox, a way for locals to reach out to elders in the community. Designed, created, and set up by youth, this mailbox is an effective solution to the isolation and loneliness elders in nursing homes can sometimes feel. So far, we have written over 2,300 letters in multiple languages for a variety of local nursing homes.

Dear Elder Letter Stands

We have partnered with local businesses, schools, and community centers to host Dear Elder Letter Stands, where locals are encouraged to write a letter to an elder. Featured as an open stand, we invite shoppers to learn more about SOL. We have written thousands of letters in multiple languages through this initiative, clearly showing that volunteering is a universal activity that brings communities together.

Hygiene Kits

We have partnered with the Princeton Mobile Food Pantry to create over 200 hygiene kits for those in need. This project, led by youth, reaches out to community members who need extra support over the holiday season.
